Spring in England

For lovers of grand estates, blooming gardens, and the quiet romance of the English countryside

About this trip

Spring in the English countryside is so painfully idyllic it feels almost too lovely to be real.

The sort of place where lambs dot the hills like confetti, the gardens are just beginning to show off, and every winding lane seems to lead to a stone cottage you wish you could move into immediately.

This is that trip.

Join us for a week in the Peak District at its most quietly dazzling: think rolling green hills, grand estates with stories tucked into every corner, and mornings that begin with countryside views and a hot beverage.

We’ll wander through storybook villages, linger in gardens that feel lifted from a novel, and spend our days soaking up that distinctly British blend of charm and understatement.

And because we don’t do ordinary, we’ll slip away for a day into Wales, just enough to give you a taste of its wild beauty and layered history, like turning the page and realizing the story has deepened.

This trip is for those who like their travel a little slower, a little prettier, and a lot more thoughtful.

For the ones who care about where they stay, what they notice, and how it all feels while they’re in it.

If you’ve ever wanted to step into your own version of a countryside daydream…this is your moment.

  • Rooms with character
Individually designed spaces across the estate, each offering comfort, calm, and thoughtful details (no cookie-cutter hotel rooms here)

  • Come prepared for countryside living
Spring layers and comfortable walking shoes are key. This is a place for fresh air, footpaths, and settling into a slower rhythm. (This is also the time to pack the wellies or borrow ones from the hotel.)

Important Notes

  • Spots are intentionally limited to 10 guests, plus your host.

  • Guests who come solo but want to share a room with a fellow solo guest may do so, pending availability. Rooms are able to be twinned. Please email me directly at hello@wanderandwelcome.com for more info.

  • We will NOT be doing any vigorous hiking but it will be important to be able to walk on various types of ground, including stairs, uneven surfaces, and possibly mud. Guests will need to be comfortable walking outdoors.

  • Guests who have a sense of adventure, flexibility, and openness PLUS a love of incredible food, literary references, gardens in bloom, and idyllic English springtime will be the best suited to have the time of their lives.
