Summer in Ireland

For those who want something beautiful, a little wild, and best experienced slowly (with very good company)

About this trip

There’s something about summer in Ireland that just feels alive.

The days stretch a little longer, the greens get even greener (somehow), and there’s always something happening: a great meal, a coastal drive you didn’t plan to love quite this much, or a village you want to move to.

Join us in Ireland, where we’ll settle into a private estate, our home for the week, complete with a private chef, plenty of space to gather, and a short walk away from a secluded beach on the Irish coast.

This is the kind of trip where mornings ease in slowly, days are full in the best way, and evenings tend to end around the table, full in every way.

We’ll explore the wild beauty of Ireland’s coast (yes, including the Cliffs of Moher), take in some of the most iconic stretches of the Wild Atlantic Way, and spend time in the kinds of places that make this part of the country so special…small villages, local spots, and a few very good surprises along the way.

Expect a mix of sea air, beautiful landscapes, excellent food, and just enough spontaneity to keep things interesting.

It’s thoughtful, a little bit indulgent, and designed for people who like their travel to feel as good as it looks.

Property FAQ

  • A design-forward country house stay
Classic English charm with a modern, slightly playful edge. It’s refined, relaxed, and deeply rooted in its countryside setting

  • Rooms with character
Individually designed spaces across the estate, each offering comfort, calm, and thoughtful details (no cookie-cutter hotel rooms here)

  • Come prepared for countryside living
Spring layers and comfortable walking shoes are key. This is a place for fresh air, footpaths, and settling into a slower rhythm. (This is also the time to pack the wellies or borrow ones from the hotel.)

Important Notes

  • Spots are intentionally limited to 10 guests, plus your host.

  • Guests who come solo but want to share a room with a fellow solo guest may do so, pending availability. Rooms are able to be twinned. Please email me directly at hello@wanderandwelcome.com for more info.

  • Weather is typically brisk and mild with some rain possible. (Chilly temps are still possible in late May - but don’t worry, we’ll send a suggested packing list so you’re prepared.)

  • We will NOT be doing any vigorous hiking but it will be important to be able to walk on various types of ground, including stairs, uneven surfaces, and possibly mud. Guests will need to be comfortable walking outdoors.

  • Guests who have a sense of adventure, flexibility, and openness PLUS a love of incredible food, literary references, gardens in bloom, and idyllic English springtime will be the best suited to have the time of their lives.

A Few Things to Know

  • Expect walking: 2–3 miles a day, sometimes on uneven, slick, or hilly ground.

  • It’s April in the English countryside - expect chilly mornings, a little rain, spring breezes, and magic light

  • Pack for coziness, layers, and adventure

  • This trip is best for those who feel comfortable moving through the outdoors at a gentle pace

  • Travel Note: New UK Entry Requirement
Starting in 2025, U.S. travelers will need to apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) before entering the UK.
It’s quick, online, and inexpensive—but don’t worry, I’ll remind you when the time comes and walk you through it.

Payments & Policies

  • This trip is nonrefundable, for any reason.
(We know—no one likes fine print. But our partners and accommodations require upfront commitments, and we honor those relationships.)

  • We highly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment, especially for things like flight delays, cancellations, illness, or unexpected life detours.

  • Look for a “cancel for any reason” policy if you want maximum flexibility. Sites like Squaremouth can be helpful to compare different providers.
